Strugglers Flat is exclusively dedicated to wines made from the Pinot Noir grape. The prince of grapes, Pinot Noir is very difficult to please. As a result, it is often seen as the “holy grail” of all the winemakers – the wine that they all want to make and to master. Many try, few succeed. Find some of the rockiest, driest ground around, in an area that can have the lowest rainfall in the North Island of New Zealand and you will find our Strugglers Flat Pinot vineyard. Planted on the Old Martinborough River Terraces with the newest available clones from Dijon, France, we are able to create wines “world famous” in New Zealand.
